Two Weeks Out
I've been gathering all the "stuff" that I used for the prior surgery, plus some new items. I'm getting ready to hunker down in the living room for the non-weight bearing period.
Last time, I bought an inflatable mattress that was a piece of junk. I pondered just trying to sleep in a recliner that is quite comfortable. I decided it probably won't do, though, so I bought a new piece of junk mattress. I hope it isn't quite that bad!
One new twist this time around - I have a very active, fairly large dog now. I had an inactive large dog before. I'm not sure what she'll think of the bed, if she'll damage it, if she'll expect me to play as much as I used to prior to surgery, or how it'll go.
The foot is on and off. If I'm inactive, it feels pretty good with only occasional pain. But if I do much at all, it hurts like heck. We took a one night road trip a couple of hours away just to get away from it all. I did some driving, and the foot objected. It was nice to get away, though.
Now that Thanksgiving is over and our trip is in the past, my focus is directed toward what is on the horizon. I'll be avoiding people due to the COVID pandemic. I'll need to test right before surgery; it'll be my fifth test (all negative so far). I have a lot to do beforehand. Time is ticking, though.
